All of our motorhomes are manufactured to meet and exceed the New Zealand Standard (NZS 5465:2001) of Self Containment of Motor Caravans and Caravans.
This standard provides for the containment of solid waste, toilet waste and grey water waste, resulting from the approved number of occupants’ daily activities, and to supply their minimum fresh water needs, for at least three days. The New Zealand standard covers such items as the toilet, water supply, water reticulation, sanitary fittings (i.e. handbasin, sink), etc. This means the motorhome must be constructed to comply with strict conditions in order to be able to certified as self-contained by an approved Testing Officer.
We highly recommend that anyone wishing to travel by motorhome in New Zealand only does so with a vehicle that is certified self-contained. This is seen as the more environmentally responsible option and offers peace of mind that certain quality requirements have been met.
All Pacific Horizon motorhomes are certified self-contained.
